We were almost viral on LinkedIn

My recent post titled "PR is Not Sales and We need to stop pretending it is" sparked valuable insights about sharing work skills and engaging online. Here are the key lessons I've learned:

1. Sharing Work Skills

Being open about your skills and experiences fosters a collaborative environment. Sharing knowledge not only helps others but also positions you as a thought leader in your field. When you share your expertise, you contribute to the collective knowledge of your industry, which can lead to new collaborations and opportunities. Moreover, this openness encourages others to share their insights, creating a reciprocal flow of information that benefits everyone involved.

2. Visibility Online

Maintaining an active presence on LinkedIn is crucial. The more visible you are, the more opportunities you create for networking and career advancement. Regular interactions, whether through posting updates, commenting on others' posts, or sharing relevant articles, keep you on the radar of your connections and potential employers. Visibility also enhances your personal brand, making it easier for others to recognize your expertise and value.

3. Consistency is Key

Regularly posting and engaging with content keeps you relevant. Consistency builds trust and demonstrates your commitment to your professional growth. By establishing a routine for your LinkedIn activity, you can create a sense of reliability within your network. This not only helps you stay informed about industry trends but also positions you as a dependable source of information and insights.

4. Confidence to Showcase Yourself

It’s important to be confident in sharing your achievements and insights. Don’t just be a spectator; take the initiative to contribute and engage with others. Confidence in your abilities and accomplishments can inspire others and encourage them to share their own experiences. Remember, everyone has unique insights to offer, and your perspective could resonate with someone else, leading to fruitful discussions and connections.

5. Embracing a Warmer Online Community

LinkedIn has evolved into a more approachable platform. People are increasingly showing their authentic selves, which encourages a more relaxed and supportive atmosphere. This shift allows for deeper connections and more meaningful conversations. By embracing this warmth, you can foster stronger relationships with your network, making LinkedIn not just a professional tool, but also a community where individuals support each other in their career journeys.

In conclusion, embracing these lessons can significantly enhance your professional journey on LinkedIn. By sharing, engaging, and being visible, you can create meaningful connections and opportunities. The insights gained from my experiences serve as a reminder of the power of community and collaboration in achieving professional success.
