Beyonce is not a good role model…

So after her performance at the Grammy Awards this year and her latest song Drunk in Love and Partition some people have suddenly developed a conscious as to whether she can be regarded as a role model or not??? Really now??

First of all any parent who has their child looking up to any celebrity as a role model is the one with issues and not the celebrity in question or the child for that matter.

The last time i checked parents are the ones who are supposed to lead the way and set the example. Parents are the ones who are buying their teenage children Beyonce or Rihanna’s music knowing fully well the content in that music is explicitly referring to a man or sex.

Secondly they are the same people who buy tickets for their children to attend these concerts.. Look at how packed the Justin Bieber Concert was when he came to SA. Now that he is caught drunk or misbehaving the same parents can start to talk…

In her song “Partition” Queen Bey as she is fondly known in the Media says “Private show with the music blastin’He like to call me Peaches when we get this nastyRed wine drip filth talk that trashChauffeur eavesdropping trying not to crash

Apart from the lyrics let’s look at how Beyonce dresses for all her live performances which by the way most of my male friends love to watch. So if man and women aged 25- 40  are watching Beyonce or if the man in particular are not secretly obsessing over her what are parents doing when they allow their children to watch such music or purchase it? .

Mr Carter himself has no issues supporting his wife and what she does as an Entertainer. PS: Don’t forget that they are both parents…

No matter how much you scrutinize what Beyonce or any entertainer for what they wear,  what they do and how they act etc at the end of the day she is not the parent to your child and she is not the one raising that child.

Personally i think people who have teenage children should stop projecting their insecurities or short comings either as parents  to other people. Fix the challenge and don’t shift the blame.
