Talk about ending 2013 on a big note. Not only has she cemented herself as the Diva who runs the world but she has proven that hard workers know no rest. Just minutes before midnight on Friday, Dec. 13, Beyonce released her fifth album, a self-titled set, exclusively on iTunes. I guess the fact that the Social Networks are abuzz with rumors that her hubby Jay Z, Drake, Frank Ocean and daughter Blue Ivy arefeatured on the Album is definitely enough guarantee that this one heck of a well thought move and amazing album. In the music business collaborations say a lot about the direction an Artist’s career is heading not to mention talent of course.
Beyonce’s album — her fifth to date and first since 2011’s 4 — arrived on Thursday night (Dec. 12) without prior warning and was announced on the singer’s FB page, just like that. The 14-song collection features “Drunk In Love,” a new collaboration with husband Jay Z; “Mine,” featuring Drake; Superpower, with her “I Miss You” collaborator Frank Ocean; and “Blue,” a song with her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. “XO,” long rumored to be a single from the singer’s new album, also appears on the track list.
The UK Magazine the Telegraph reports that the videos, some of which were co-directed by Knowles, were filmed in locations across the world, including Brazil, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and the singer’s home of Houston, Texas. The singer has worked on the album with a number of songwriters and producers, including Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean, Pharrell Williams and her husband Jay-Z.
Who release an album prior to no announcement and to top it all up there are videos available for each track?I guess Beyonce just proved it can be done. I guess she was tired of the typical album launch which we as fans have become accustomed to. Well done Bey and Congratulations…
