Every month brings it’s fair share of challenges, but it is a joy to be alive. I say that regardless of what anyone of us may be facing in life, appreciating the fact that we are blessed to see another day and that means we are given a chance to face our mountains and choose to move them or let them steal our joy.
It is a few days before the month of April. As always I am excited because there is just so much to do, so many places to go, so many people to see in this bustling city of Johannesburg. I don’t know about you but I believe every day in our lives has a purpose, every month and every year just as much. So as we enter the beautiful month of April here are a few nuggets of wisdom I would love to share . These nuggets of wisdom are inspired by Pastor Joyce Meyer . I am sure they will find their relevance in your life as they have in mine. #HappyApril #HelloApril
Secret #1 A confident woman knows that she is loved.
The first and most important secret to being a confident woman is to know that you are loved by God unconditionally. There is power in knowing who you are in Christ. Where you stand in your purpose and calling with assurance. Nothing or no one can move you because your foundation is solid. I strongly believe that real power begins when you appreciate the love God has for you and the plan he already set in motion by giving his one and only son to set you and I free. His love is free, our part is to receive it.
Secret #2—A Confident Woman Refuses To Live In Fear
My dad recently accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. As our Father and the leader of our family you can only imagine the amount of joy I have. Recently we have been having some conversations about life in general and matters of the spirit . In the midst of that we started talking about faith. We spoke about David and how i recently discovered the power in his journey. My Dad said something profound. He said “where there is fear, there is no faith. The two cannot co-exist”. Think about it what did you achieve when you were scared? We can unlearn fear, the same way we learn how to love. It is a conscious effort one has to make. So go for your dreams, apply for that job, end that toxic relationship. Whatever you have been procrastinating to do will not happen if you live in fear.
Secret #3—A Confident Woman Avoids Comparison
I read a statement online the other day and it said “comparison is the thief of joy”. If there was nothing or no one to compare yourself to , where and what would you be doing? Would you just be as fearless? Every Industry or pathway in life comes with a benchmark and there is nothing wrong with that. Those are man made tools set as guide lines. Jesus is our benchmark as Christians. He walked this earth and was tempted like all man, however he conquered. We could not possibly compare ourselves to him. There is no need to. Instead we can use his teachings and the guidance of the Holy Spirit as support to rise to the occasion and be better. God reminds us when he says ” you are fearfully and wonderfully made” and that means no one can be like you even if they tried. It would be great to take pride in that. The devils steals our joy by reminding us of our weaknesses and our faults so that we focus on that and forget who we are in Christ. Open your bible and allow yourself to see yourself the way Christ sees you. Someone will be more beautiful than you, someone will cook better than you. We are all at different levels in our lives but we do not have to compare ourselves to get ahead and feel better about ourselves. In the real world competing is normal but in the spiritual realm , know your position and stand on it. Be enough with what God has given and blessed you with. If you have faith in it and in his blessings, it will take you far.
Secret #4—A Confident Woman knows her well will never run out
You cannot give what you do not have. Earlier this year I had a spiritual melt down. I felt depleted. I remember feeling hurt, angry with God. I felt powerless. I could not pray , infact I did not want to pray. I felt God had left me so in essence why should I seek him. That is a dark place to be in because your world is dark and there is no light, forget seeing it at the end of the tunnel, at that point you cannot even see the tunnel itself. I had nothing to give. How did i get out of that rut? I cried day and night and told God my frustrations. I told him I wanted to start again. I wanted to know him. I longed to love him again and trust him again.
If you have not known love you cannot give it to anyone. If you have not known kindness you cannot show it to others and surely you cannot be compassionate. So when you know your place in Christ, it means you know he loves you and you receive that love. So naturally that well will never run dry. God is infinite and that means we cannot measure his being or his love. This gives us permission to love and give freely. The well in you will never run dry especially if we hold on to the source of our being and happiness. Sometimes we fear love, we love supporting others because we worry they will not appreciate us or remember what we have done or perhaps we fear they will become greater than us, but guess what that is how it is supposed to be. The mark of a true leader is in the number of leaders he creates NOT followers.
Secret #5 A Confident Woman knows her limits
You cannot save everyone. You cannot be the hero of every attack or situation. Sometimes it is great to know when it is time to surrender and let God be God and allow him to do what he does best. Surrender is not failure, it is in my eyes a sign of strength. The bible says we can do all things through Jesus Christ who is our strength and when we see that we have tried all we can, it is OKAY to give it all to him. After all we know and trust our cares and burdens will be taken care of. He is faithful.
I wish you all a blessed April Month and may God deliver what you are trusting and relying in him for. He is faithful.
