KEYS TO A GREAT WARDROBE

As a Certified Personal Shopper here are my tips to a great wardrobe.

1. Do not go shopping the weekend of pay day.

I know how hard this may sound because this the time we are loaded,it’s the period we have time on our hands, but it  is also the time when we are influenced to buy more than we budgeted for and also because of the trends we are bound to make some choices that might appear to be great but they are not.Shopping is best the week after pay day.The queues are down, the traffic at shopping centers is less. This is a great environment and atmosphere to find what you want and need as opposed to buying it because you like i and you can afford it.

2.STICK TO THE BUDGET

This is not hard as we  make to be . It requires discipline and you can do it. One of the most negative results of impulse buying is that we end up with staff we do not use or need. Once in a while it feels good to distress or spoil yourself with that RUBICON designer dress but most of the time , sticking to the budget helps in the long run. Just because it looks beautiful on a hanger and you have to have it does not mean you NEED it. If life can go on without that bag then you don’t need it. J.B.S (just be strong)

3. Do not spend your money on trendy items of clothing

Classic is not a style for all, however it is important for jeans, suits, shirts, shoes and bags to investing in it.They maybe costly but you can build your wardrobe around classics and add variety by adding the trendy things. Trends come and go. One cannot surely keep up the standard all the time, so classics are a good way of striking the balance.

4.KNOW THY STYLE

If you do not do a style analysis you will find yourself buying anything and everything and only wear half of what you have in your wardrobe. You will find that your wardrobe is then cluttered with clothes, shoes and bags that don’t appeal to you and are not your style. Once you know your personal style you save money and time whenever you are buying clothes.

5.Color is key to a great wardrobe

It is vital if not the minimum requirement for your wardrobe to have a variety of colour. A lot of women are not into colour as they say it draws too much attention. If you are feel like that, i respect that. However balance in choices of colour is very important. It will make your wardrobe more lively and appealing to you. Plus most of the times when you wear a red top, orange or even green, people tend to notice and they remember you as opposed to being in a color like brown or black. Try it and see what i am talking about. Lastly if you are not sure.Do a test with your partner. Put on a red top , brown/black top and ask him out of the three which one suits you best???
