Review – Matt Cigar Lounge

I had the pleasure of being invited to experience the Matt Cigar Lounge which is based in Maboneng, Jhb. I have never been one for following trends and i have to say Maboneng has never been my kind of hang out or eatery spot in Johannesburg.

So when i got the invite to experience the Matt Cigar Lounge and i soon found out the location was Maboneng, i was not sure what to expect. Which is sometimes a good thing as opposed to having expectations and experiencing something different or a complete let down.

I love the Matt Cigar Lounge for a couple of reasons. If you live around the Jhb CBD area and the surrounding areas this is a private entertainment Lounge set in the heart of Maboneng. It is definitely within your location and a good spot for great food and a musical experience. The lounge is an underground exclusive spot for a man or woman who loves her down time in the company of a loved one, friends, his boys or her girls. One can host a private family event, a bridal shower and of course and event between friends.

The staff there is very professional and organised. The Manager is absolutely friendly and service orientated. I used the Uber service to get to the venue but for some strange reason we could not locate the venue, so i went to their website and took the cell phone number that was listed there and asked for the right directions. I eventually found the place and within minutes of arriving, the Manager called me again to confirm if i had found the place.

The cigar lounge which has a nice classic and yet vintage feel to it. It is very spacious and you can play some chess while you enjoy some quiet time with friends.

Let’s just say i have found a new spot that is close to home where i can have a fine dining experience while also experiencing some live musical performances. If you like trying out new food, viewing nice places or perhaps you are looking for a one stop destination that has class, awesome food and a mature crowd, then make sure you visit the Matt Cigar Lounge.
