I believe in DIY. Though I am not the Queen of DIY I do try my utmost to learn new skills pertaining to my craft. I have a personal story regarding dependency and let us just say I am also a bit of a perfectionist so giving someone 100 percent control over something I can do is a bit challenging for me. I would rather do it myself. Sometimes more often that not it is a budget issue.
As a self employed woman there are certain services I wish I could afford but often I can’t. So I learnt form the onset to observe those who exhibit the qualities of the work I would love to emulate. I follow them online and learn from them and in addition to that I research other alternatives to getting what I want. I am not sure if I am alone on this, sometimes you just can’t find what you want on the market, so why not do it yourself?
If you have an event and cannot afford a Graphic Designer you can create a flyer online. It is free, quick and easy and you can pay an annual fee and cut down on costs. Try using Canva, plus the flyer or invite is saved in High Resolution which is a plus and most importantly your work is not watermarked ( I can’t stand watermarks)..

We are living in the online era and no business can afford not to be online. I recently did my research on websites from design to hosting and the costs I received were pretty interesting. My advice is if you can do it yourself go ahead. As a start you do not need a lot of pages, keep it simple, basic but obviously eye catching and straight to the point. Try WordPress.

With anything in life do your own research, with sites like WordPress it is easy to get online help as well as look up testimonials on other users’ experience. All I can say is this is 2017 there is no time for excuses when all you need to know is a finger tip away. Please do share your testimonies if you do get around starting your own Blog, creating your own flyer or upgrading your outfit. It will be fun, plus you will SAVE some cash which you can use on another business expenses.
