It’s OSCARS time and if you are not excited then i can’t help you. Word on the street was 12 years a slave was going to be an Oscar favourite and indeed it is. I guess people must be disappointed about “Long Walk to Freedom” as there was an Oscar buzz for it. Ooops!! It is still an awesome movie and this would not be the first time fans made a buzz of an Oscar nomination for a movie and it did not happen. The OSCARS will be aired live on the 2nd of March a day after the Metro FM Awards here in Johannesburg. It is truly the Award Season and the fact that Ellen DeGeneres will be hosting the Awards is even greater news. I love her sense of humor.
BEST PICTURE

12 years a Slave.
ACTOR in a leading role
This one is a tough one with my all time favorites Leonardo Dicaprio (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET), Matthew McConaughey (DALLAS BUYERS CLUB) and Christian Bale (AMERICAN HUSTLE) competing for this much wanted title.
ACTRESS in a leading role
Where does one even begin? This is a stellar list of the who’s who actresses of Hollywood. Meryl Streep ( AUGUST; OSAGE COUNTY), Amy Adams (AMERICAN HUSTLE ), Sandra Bullock (GRAVITY) and Judi Dench (PHILOMENA) and Kate Blanchett (BLUE JASMINE)
I appreciate Cinema and truly wish each and every Film, Production teams, Actors and Actresses all the best at the Awards…Thank God Julia Roberts did not just disappear into thin air. She is a brilliant actress and her Nomination proves just how good.
