To love yourself , is to spread love

I am one person who has very little tolerance for people who are mean and make fun of other people especially women. This morning i came across a meme on my FB page about MNet’s V- Entertainment Presenter Dineo Moeketsi’s knock knees as they are commonly known. I am the least impressed if not ashamed that this is who we are as a people in South Africa.

For those of you who do not know , “knock knees” is a medical condition that no child chooses and therefore they should not be mocked for it . Instead we should celebrate the uniqueness that is among our society. So here’s a bit of education for those of us that like to post things on Social Media teasing others before we do our research and most importantly before we practice compassion.

Genu valgum, commonly called “knock-knee”, is a condition in which the knees angle in and touch one another when the legs are straightened. Individuals with severe valgus deformities are typically unable to touch their feet together while simultaneously straightening the legs. The term originates from the Latin genu, “knee”, and valgus which actually means bent outwards, but in this case, it is used to describe the distal portion of the knee joint which bends outwards and thus the proximal portion seems to be bent inward.

I wish we could CHOOSE to be a Society that is compassionate towards others

I wish we could CHOOSE to see others just as beautiful as we see ourselves

I wish we could CHOOSE to educate ourselves about how different we are and why we are different and at the end of it all acknowledge it and celebrate it

To Dineo my beautiful sister whom i have had the pleasure of meeting . I don’t know how you do it. I don’t how you manage to shine and radiate and stay so positive but you are doing it and you are doing it well. I just want to publicly appreciate you and thank you. You are truly beautiful inside and out and you do deserve to be acknowledged. There are many young girls or boys out there who fear being shamed for what their bodies look like . I hope they appreciate themselves and love themselves because that is where real love begins. We are not our bodies, we not our straight legs or beautiful or not so beautiful bodies. We are more than that and your confidence my darling sister is a reminder of how we should celebrate our uniqueness. I am inspired by you babe…..MCWAAAH!!!
