To wash or not to wash a man’s underwear?

I am a curious person by nature and I love interacting with people especially women due to that trait in me I have found myself to be a part of a lot of Facebook pages. There is a Facebook page that is administered by a sister of mine that I am part of. It’s a page that seeks to empower women in their decision by giving them the best advice regarding whatever challenges they may be having.
The idea is pretty simple you share your challenge with us and we do our best to give you the best advice. Think of it as The Talk but on Social Media and a page that has over 200 women. This past week a lady posted something interesting based on the picture below:

I aired my views already on the page but for the purpose of the Blog I will share them with you. I don’t believe a woman should wash her man’s underwear for a lot of reasons.
1. I think its demeaning and it’s a practise that has been around purely to give man an upper hand in the relationship and make women feel inferior.
2. This practise is ancient and women and our cultures have evolved with time. Women have become just more than spectators or participants in their marriages. They are stakeholders. They are aware what they are getting themselves into and gone are the days where we were just sold off to the highest bidder.
3. Why should you wash a grown man’s underwear? Is it out of love? Is this a level of submission spoken of in the Bible that maybe I don’t understand? Is it something commonly practised in Zimbabwe or Africa?
I would love to get global views on this because I am really curious to know why other women do this and while we are on the subject I would also like to ask or find out if there are men who wash their partners under wear? These issues may seem petty to one but they are a clear sign that men still dominate and women in some countries and unfortunately even in relationships allow themselves to practice this so called act of love and they do not realize how it still enables that mindset of dominance over women.
It’s women’s month here in South Africa and issues like these are necessary to discuss. I would love to hear your views. Thank you Zoe and Tayesa for the group. I always enjoy the conversations we have.
