Togo Music Duo Toofan

They are loud, their music is fast and they can dance…I love being African and our music is so diverse.I was busy doing my work and searching for some music on YouTube when i found out about this group. I was impressed. So i did some research of my own and found out they are actually from Togo. Toofan, possibly the most popular group in Togo was created by three high school friends: Master Just(FantohouKossi Justeand) Barabas (Mensah Blaise) and All One (Akue Agoe, who later left the group). Nominated for the KORA Awards most promising African group in 2010, they first hit the scene in 2005 with their album, ‘Epervier Ogbragada’. The group blew up quickly when their album became the album of the national football team as they were making it to the 2006 world cup. Toofan was so popularly associated with the team that the team was nicknamed after their album, and called “Les Eperviers”.

I would not blame you if you stand up and dance to this track. It’s energizing. The guitar and the drums remind me of Koffi Olomide and how his music filled all the townships in my home town Bulawayo.

Toofan has a FAN in me!!! Keep it up guys…
