Unlimited Potential

This afternoon I received a request to work with an Actress on her brand. Looking back at how my journey in PR started I want to share this little story with you. My love for PR started in a very interesting way. I secured my 1st celebrity client with the intention of being her Stylist and the next thing I knew I was doing some PR work for her.

I got straight into it and created a strategy for her that she signed off immediately. I remember sending a proposal to a prominent beauty product brand. I was anxious and I was literally counting the days till they could come back to me. They declined my proposal and stated in future they may be open to it but instead she ended up getting a lovely goodie hamper from them. I love goodies but I was not pleased . I was actually concerned that this would have an impact on my relationship with my client but it did not. Instead she was pleased.

You may not always get what you want but something good will always come out of your hard work,faith and willingness to learn. Don’t dismiss the endless possibilities that are waiting for you in the world because you are not qualified enough. I am not a Certified PR Consultant but when I had to put that proposal through and seek Sponsorship that was the last thing on my mind. PR was something I had chosen but I embraced it and till today I love it. I can very stubborn when I want something and instead of declining an offer from my client and an opportunity to test my skill I looked at the overall object (my development). Have faith and test yourself, you will be surprised what you will learn. Like Richard Branson said don’t turn down an offer because you have never done it before, say YES and learn as you go.
