“Waiting is overrated”

I think the worst advice you will ever get in life is “wait for your turn”. Although this can be meant to advise one to be patient it certainly can be taken out of context by many and it enables people not to push themselves and do all they can to ensure that when their turn comes they are ready.
Waiting in line is not the issue here, sometimes we have no control over the circumstances we find ourselves in. It is WHAT YOU DOwhile “in waiting” that can ensure that your end goal is met.
The bible also says faith without works is dead meaning without action even our hope is dead. While you wait for a promotion what are you doing in the meantime? While you wait for your chance in the spotlight how are you preparing yourself?
While in waiting there is a lot that can be done to prepare for “your turn”. Every chance you have should be utilized to ensure that you build relationships with people who can guide and mentor you in the right direction. No successful person is ever alone, they are surrounded by advisers, team members who are excited and passion about the vision being shared. Who backs you up in your corner? Artists/celebrities call these their glam squad have you identified what you are all about and who formulates part for your glam squad that will help you look good out there? Who is cheer leading for you? Who is guiding you and coaching you while you wait for “your turn”. It is not enough to know that you need to go back to school to get a Degree so you can further your career. Now that you are enlightened and aware what are you doing about it?
I learnt a new term on Twitter this week. G. O.Y.A – Get Off your Ass…. The original statement read “the law of attraction works well when coupled with the law of GOYA”. Get up and do something. Maybe you are in the wrong line and you should not be waiting to begin with but how will you know if you just stand and wait in line like every one else around and follow the norm?
