Why fathers should practise DATING their daughters!!

On one ordinary afternoon i found myself watching the Steve Harvey show and i was in awe of this man’s way of thinking and most importantly a much needed initiative for how fathers should treat their daughters and prepare them for adult hood relationships with men.

I don’t know this man but i am for the ideal that our Fathers are meant to be the ones who prepare us for dating. It is of course a collective effort from both Mom and Dad. Aaron Dickson shot and posted a video of himself on a date with his 3 year old daughter Annalyne and the video went viral on Social Media. I saw it for the 1st time on the Steve Harvey Show and i wanted to share it with you.

The video received mixed reviews as everything else that breaks our on Social Media but the reason why i am sharing this with you is to encourage Fathers out there to watch this video and to also encourage parents both single and couples to be aware what they teach their children about dating.

I never knew my biological father and i so blessed to have a Dad whom i love and respect. This man is my hero and every time we chat he imparts such volumes of wisdom without even knowing it, but can i tell you that i have never been on a date with my Dad. I never thought of it and i am sure he did not either. I would love to go on a date with my Dad and i am 32 years of age. We went on family dates and family trips but i have never had a singular date with my Dad where we can honestly and openly talk about life. He is old school..lol.

How crazy is that? Annalyne was only 3 years of age when this video was shot and i am so jealous of her. I am too grown for milk and cookies like Annalyne but i am sure my Dad and i can do Dinner. We learn about love from our parents. They formulated our value system and expectations of what love should be. Therefore i encourage spontaneous , dinner dates or lunch date with your children

1. You get a chance to focus on her and get to know her 2. It is a great and unique opportunity to just wind down and have fun with this great being that you have been blessed to create and bring into the world 3. You get to see the world in her eyes and for fathers who have little girls you get a chance , a MAJOR chance to influence that vision of her world in a great way 4. You also get to iron out issues (this is for the older daughter father relationships), discuss bigger things and challenges in your daughter’s life. I am an adult but believe you me when i tell you that i am never too old for Daddy’s loving and advice and even though i may hate it, thee scolding will never go away (oz i am not perfect) but it is still shaping me into a better woman 5. It’s a chance to create new memories, take pictures. As a daughter i want to say you will not always be here and neither will we but while we are both here we need to utilize the time God has blessed with to experience love and to share it as well..

I CANNOT WAIT TO GO ON A DATE WITH MY DAD!!!
